Connect Cherry Studio to Nbility
Cherry Studio lets you switch models and manage conversations and assistants on your desktop. Add an OpenAI-compatible provider to access Nbility without configuring a separate key for every model vendor.
Prepare
Install the app from Cherry Studio and create a dedicated key in Token management.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Provider name | Nbility |
| Provider type | OpenAI compatible |
| API address | https://api.nbility.ai/v1 |
| API key | Your Nbility token |
| Model ID | The exact identifier from Models |
Add a provider
- Open Settings → Model services and add a provider.
- Select OpenAI or OpenAI compatible, and name it
Nbility. - Enter the key and API address, save, and enable the provider.
- Run the connection check if your version offers one.
Labels vary by version. Stop the API address at /v1; do not append /chat/completions. If the client previews the final address, check that /v1 appears only once.
Add and select a model
Try fetching the model list first. If it does not load, add a model manually using the complete model ID. You may customize its display name, but the request ID must remain exact.
Return to the chat and select a model under Nbility for the current assistant or conversation. Adding a provider does not automatically change existing conversations.
Verify
Send a short message such as “Explain vector search in one sentence.” Check the model and request status in Usage logs.
Test images, files, and tools after text succeeds. A client capability switch cannot add a capability the model does not support.
Troubleshoot
- 401: paste the key again and check whitespace, expiry, and token status.
- Empty model list: check token groups and verify separately with the Models API.
- Connection test works but chat fails: check the provider and model selected for that conversation.
- 404 or repeated path: review the base URL in Connection basics.
