Connect Cline to Nbility

Cline's OpenAI Compatible provider can access Nbility from your editor. Choose a model that supports tool calling and start with a small, reviewable task.

Install

Follow the official Cline documentation for your editor. In VS Code or a compatible editor, find Cline in the extension marketplace, verify its publisher, install it, and open its sidebar.

Configure the provider

Choose OpenAI Compatible in Cline settings:

FieldValue
Base URLhttps://api.nbility.ai/v1
API keyA dedicated key from Token management
Model IDAn exact, tool-capable model ID available to your token

Do not append /chat/completions to the base URL. Get IDs from Models or the Models API; a provider display name is not a model ID.

Set model capabilities

Match context size, output limits, and image support to the actual model. Start conservatively and adjust after checking its specifications. OpenAI compatibility describes the API format, not a guarantee of tools, images, or complete agent workflows.

If your version saves separate providers for Plan and Act, confirm both modes use the intended Nbility model.

Verify a small task

  1. Click Verify, if available, or start a task.
  2. Ask it to read the README and summarize the project without editing files.
  3. Review tool calls and approval prompts.
  4. Confirm the model and request status in Usage logs.

After reading works, allow a small edit and review its diff. Do not enable approval for every command just to work around errors.

Troubleshoot

  • Connection failure: check the URL, key, and model using Connection basics.
  • Chat works but tools fail: verify model tool support and client capability settings.
  • Errors after switching modes: check whether Plan or Act still references an old provider or model.
  • Long tasks fail: reduce context, record time and request ID, and inspect usage logs.
