Codebuff with Nbility
Codebuff hosted-service authentication and model-provider credentials are different layers. The reference itself makes custom endpoints version-dependent, and a generally applicable direct Nbility setup has not been verified.
Check client capabilities
Check the installed provider documentation and codebuff --help. If CODEBUFF_API_KEY authenticates the Codebuff service, do not fill it with an Nbility key. Only an explicit OpenAI-compatible provider accepts the gateway’s /v1 base and model ID.
Requirements for direct integration
- An independently configurable inference URL, not merely a product backend address.
- Support for one of Nbility’s Chat Completions, Responses, Messages, or Gemini protocols.
- An Nbility token and an exact ID from Models.
Without these, “accepts an API key” does not mean “supports Nbility.” An Nbility token does not log into a third-party product.
Available alternatives
For terminal coding, see OpenCode, Codex CLI, or Claude Code. For an editor sidebar, see Cline.
Those guides provide concrete endpoint settings. Verify token and model access with Connection basics, then check the client request separately. A working model API does not demonstrate that this product is integrated.
