Grok CLI with Nbility
This refers to the community project superagent-ai/grok-cli, historically published as @vibe-kit/grok-cli, not xAI’s Grok Build. Verify the project and release you installed.
Set environment variables
Install from the project’s official releases, then configure the launch terminal:
export GROK_API_KEY="YOUR_API_KEY"
export GROK_BASE_URL="https://api.nbility.ai/v1"
export GROK_MODEL="YOUR_MODEL_ID"
grok
Use a key from Token management and an ID from Models. These variables belong to this community CLI, not every client named Grok.
Verify the session
Send a short question and inspect the model and status in Usage logs. Test file or other tools after chat works.
~/.grok/user-settings.json and project settings may retain previous credentials or models. Check your release’s precedence rules if the result differs from the environment configuration.
Feature boundaries
A custom model endpoint does not establish support for transcription, search, sandboxing, or remote control. Those features may need additional paths and credentials; verify them separately.
