Junie CLI with Nbility

This guide applies to Junie CLI releases with custom model profiles. Verify JetBrains IDE plugin support separately; a CLI profile is not an IDE setting.

Create a user-level profile

Write ~/.junie/models/nbility.json, or the equivalent under your customized JUNIE_HOME:

{
  "id": "YOUR_MODEL_ID",
  "baseUrl": "https://api.nbility.ai/v1/chat/completions",
  "apiType": "OpenAICompletion",
  "apiKey": "${NBILITY_API_KEY}",
  "displayName": "Nbility model",
  "providerName": "Nbility"
}

Use an exact ID from Models. This profile’s baseUrl is a full endpoint, not just /v1.

Launch the profile

export NBILITY_API_KEY="YOUR_API_KEY"
junie --model custom:nbility

custom:nbility refers to the filename, not the API model ID. You can also select the profile in the interactive model picker.

Verify and troubleshoot

Test plain text and check Usage logs before a small coding task.

For Unknown custom model profile, check the path, file extension, and release support. Project .junie/models/ profiles may require project trust; start with a user-level file.

Missing environment variables can prevent profile loading. Connection settings and tool approvals are separate; do not loosen execution permissions to fix an API connection.
